Essays Are Magic: Escapism and Ponies
“Why should a man be scorned if, finding himself in prison, he tries to get out and go home? Or if, when he cannot do so, he thinks and talks about other topics than jailers and prison-walls?”
—J.R.R Tolkien, “On Fairy-Stories”
“I think that pretty much every form of fiction (I’d include fantasy, obviously) can actually be a real escape from places where you feel bad, and from bad places. It can be a safe place you go, like going on holiday, and it can be somewhere that, while you’ve escaped, actually teaches you things you need to know w

Chapter II: A System of Virtue
The feeling of the final jolt of pain disappearing from his lower torso was the last sensible thought his mind grasped before succumbing into pure state of panic. The pain had marked the boundary of life, of resistance, but the fading of it meant the exact opposite.
He was dying, and it happened all too fast for anything but pure panic to seize him. It was all happening too fast. Another violent spasm hit him like a hammer, the waves of agony seizing again his whole body before evaporating into the thin air, leaving only a sense of coldness behind. Now he was only faintly aware
Chaos Acknowledged
Prologue
There was something he really did not understand here, something quite extraordinary, unlike anything from the way things usually went when he was around. And the thing really bothering him was not the thing itself, but the fact that there seemed to be no way he could grasp it, figure it out, or change it.
This terrified him more than anything ever had.
But only for a time so brief it mattered not, compared to the joy this pure feeling of fear and horror brought him; to be able to feel these emotions washing over him like an unstoppable tide. Truly, he knew the terror brought by fear so deep even chaos itself f

Philosophy of the Ponies: Ethics – an Afterthought
This piece of writing serves both as an extension and reinforcement for the one before this, these questions having arisen to my knowledge again after witnessing a great episode on the series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (owned by Lauren Faust and Hasbro Studios), namely the one called Keep Calm and Flutter on (episode 10 season 3). For indeed after seeing this aforementioned piece of art I find myself gripped by this urge to write something philosophical about, something not quite fan-fiction but not quite academic either, something different. As is I will offer here, like I have d

Philosophy of the Ponies: Ethics
In this essay I shall dissect the world of ponies, the landscape called Equestria (owned by Hasbro Studios and Lauren Faust) via it's ethical dimensions, using the theoretical tools offered by nietzschean discourse, that is, the theory about powers both active and reactive, about the value of values, about a world constituted not by powers outside it but within it. I will make a comparison to the Judeo-Christian ethical conceptions to elaborate the differences between the pony world and ours – and do not be fooled, for the are differences, massive ones for that – in an effort to imitate my source of inspirati

Philosophy of the Ponies:Aspects and Possibilities
This is a sketch of what might or might not come to be in future depending on my level of keennes concerning this subject - and indeed forming that subject to it's fullest blossom - and of course on the amount of time given to me - the latest one should not present a problem, me in my Christmas holiday and all that. But enough of the irrelevant. The purpose of this shorth essay is to sketch a few directions of which an important study might take it's course, that being of course the series thus called Philosophy of the Ponies (talking naturally of the series by Lauren Faust: Friendship is magic, google it if u have no idea of what im talking
Once again I have risked myself on an enterprise to write something "philosophical" on this site. Risked - what for? Toast be told, I dare not to tell.
The first type of hero: The Univeral One
The word universal here points to moral systems in general, to relations between entities known as Good and Evil and so worth. An universal hero is universaly Good, meaning that he/she/it fights for an universaly Good cause and of course against an universaly Evil opponent. As an side note can be said that the hero is usually composed of nothing else than the quest one is after for, the quest being ultimately more important than the hero itself and fi

(The full title: Art, Fortune-Telling, Social Reality)
I am a person deeply interested in the nature of metaphor, what they are and how they are used as tools. In this short view I shall investigate the relationships between three distinctive entities (modern art, the tradition of fortune-telling and so the called "social reality"). My glance is limited and short but be not disapointed, for it is up to you to continue the work started here.
The first thing to know about modern art is the observation that it does not state anything in particular. As such it is not even a question mark, a call for bold interpretations. It merely is. But yet w

Oh yeah...
Haven´t been here for a while, have I?
Obvious question is...
Whether or not I´m going to explain my MYSTERIOUS exile.
No.
The true dilemma lies in the riddle whether or not YOU will read this rubbish.
YOU=anyone alive
In the case YOU do, let me know.
I grave for it.
Does humanity need the idea of God for the sake of not becoming one?
Do I need the mere idea of Him/Her to avoid regarding myself as such an almighty being?
And what exactly do we mean by definition "God"?
